Group Advert

Sumbal's Magazine Advert:

Positives:
I like the background swirl effect that has been used. It makes the poster seem more conventional for the pop culture as it isn't just a plain background, which a artist from another genre such as classical or country as they would want the complete focus to go to the artist but I feel that from looking at the advert above, the image of our artist, Ashley is still the first thing you look at.
I like the language used on the advert but I feel like there are some negatives to do with the grammar. I like how Sumbal has placed the 'empire records presents' at the top of the advert so that it means that would be the first thing that the reader would see. This means that the readers would start to associate the record label with the artist and once the artist gets notoriety, the record label will become well known too.
Another positive from Sumbal's magazine advert is that she matched the artist's image to the advert. She did this by making the main colours black and blue & if you look at her eye make up, she has black eyeliner and a blue underline. Also her necklace has blue it in. Whilst this is a positive, this is also a negative too.

Negatives:
One negative with the language is that some of the words have capitals letters and others don't, i.e. 'In her debut Album Featuring the hit single'. Also, I don't like how the single name, Glassheart has quotation marks on it as I believe that makes it look like it's been copied and it is a statement not a quote. The only thing that should be in quotation marks on the magazine advert is any reviews.
Looking at the colour theme, whilst the colours match the image that Sumbal picked of Ashley, the actual colours blue and black aren't conventional for our artist's genres which is pop. In our music video, our main colours are pink, purple, gold & silver and apart from the picture, she hasn't got any of these colours on her advert.

Rhiann's Magazine Advert:

Positives:
I like the bottom writing and I feel like it stands out against the pink box. I like the different fonts used for the album name and single name.
I like the shade and the font for the Marni text at the top of the magazine advert. I think the pink makes it stand out and the pink is very conventional for our artist's genre, which is pop. The language is perfect on this advert and it tells the audience exactly what the magazine advert is about, the debut album of our artist with the first single on it.

Negatives:
The one thing I don't like about the bottom of the advert is the fact that the falling for you text is a darker shade of purple than the rest of the writing and I believe that the different font already makes the viewer more on it and the darker purple doesn't look right to me.
I don't like the image used of our artist. I this that it looks a little blurry & our of focus and the lighting angle is bad, which shows the shadow under her eyes, which could have been edited away.
Whilst I like the pink box and how the writing will stand out against it, I feel like it cuts off the picture at the wrong place and makes the whole advert look a bit cheesy.

My Magazine Advert:

Positives:
I believe that the glassheart text with the heart drawing behind it looks good as it could become symbolic for the single and this could be something that the audience would recognise and instantly know and think of the artist and the song.
I like the gradient on my background as I believe that it is more professional looking due to the fact that it is very subtle and not in your face. This is good for a background as the viewer shouldn't be focusing on the background, they should be focusing on the artist and what the message of the advert is.

Negatives:
I believe that my advert is too basic when I look back at it. I could have done something different with the background or added another graphic to it to make it more interesting.
I also don't like the angle of the image of the artist. Whilst I like the image of Ashley and her hair, make-up & costume, I would have preferred to use a straight on shot instead of a side over the shoulder shot. I believe that a shot of Ashley looking into the camera would make the audience look at it more and this would cause their attention to look at the advert and see what it's about.

Group Digipak

Sumbal's Digipak
I like that Sumbal has tried to create a colour scheme and she kept with it, only adding blue and white to her digipak. However, blue isn't a conventional female pop artist colour to use on an ancillary product so I believe that she could improve her digipak by changing the colour scheme from blue to another colour like pink or purple.
Also, Sumbal's digipak is missing a picture so that could have improved the quality of the digipak and we would have been able to see how she would have edited it and what picture she would have picked.
I like the CD cover as the heart is placed in a perfect place and we decided to use this for our final digipak as well as the front cover.

Rhiann's Digipak
I like the welcome note from Rhiann's digipak as the font stands out against the background and the image is good as it shows our artist, Marni looking at the camera but she is smiling and looks quite relaxed which will help the audience to believe and relate to the welcome note.  I like the colour scheme and believe it is conventional for our artist and the pop music genre.
One thing i don't like about Rhiann's digipak is the fact that there isn't much editing techniques used which I believe would have made the digipak seem more professional looking. Also, you cannot read the writing on the CD cover, so that would be one thing that I would change.
We used the welcome note, picture 1 & the back cover in our final digipak.

My Digipak
I like my colour scheme on my digipak, I used gold and purple. The back cover has hearts which have the song titles around them and this helps to relate back to the glassheart hit single and the fact that these songs revolve around love.
I also kept the my digipak very consist by having the same pink and cream background on two of my digipak slides and this background is shown in the video a lot as the artist, does a performance section in front of it.
One thing that I would change would be my welcome note, as due to the gold clipping mask, you can't read the note properly.
I also would have changed the background on the picture one, so that it is the same shade of purple that is sued on the rest of the digipak

Final Digipak
This is the final digipak that we made for the artist.
We used the front cover and cd from Sumbal's digipak. The welcome note, back cover and picture 1 are from Rhiann's digipak & the images used in picture 1 & picture 2 are from my digipak too.
It was decided in a group meeting that I would do the final edit on the digipak as I had the more experience and skills with Photoshop CS6 so it would be the most efficient if I did the editing.
For the front cover, I took off the paint that Sumbal had on the background and added a effect and changed the text to Engraves MT, which is what is used on the whole digipak. I also used the stroke effect on the album name to add more to the picture.
For the CD Cover, I changed the background to make it more consistent with the music video and other digipak slides. The writing was changed and I did a wave transformation to make it curve against the CD rim.
For the welcome note, I added a peach coloured square as I felt that the font wasn't that easy to read and I added a glow and shadow effect to make the text stand out more.
For the first picture, I added the same effect that I put on the front cover and blurred the background a little bit.
For the second picture, I did a selective colouring technique which meant I could chose what would have it's original colour & what would be black and white. I kept only the pink & red hearts their original colour & I felt that this would help to convey the colours to the target audience and show that this is conventional.
For the back cover, I changed the font to Engraves MT and spread them out more evenly. I also added a bar code to make it seem more realistic.

Film Schedule

The filming schedule is an important part of the planning for a movie as it helps to make everything organised. It can be given to all the people on the set, as it will help to organise the filming production and a filming schedule is good as you can make sure that you don't forget any scenes or shots.
Here is the filming schedule that we made:

That was the basic filming schedule that we made. We then made a more detailed version later on which had the date and time that we were filming, the type of shot it was, who was in it, the setting, the iconography and the lighting.
