When doing research, I searched in many different magazine's that are aimed at different ages and genders to help me develop my understanding of what our target audience would expect to see in a magazine advert for a music artist and their music.
From my research, I learnt more about the layout, which indicated that having an image of the artist as the main focus was essential. Another convention was that the language shouldn't be too complex and there shouldn't be a lot of writing as this will cause people to get bored and they may not absorb the message and objective of sales of the new music.
Magazine Advert 1:
I like the image that I used in this picture, as she is looking straight at the camera and this will cause the audience to do the same thing to her.
I like that the pink in the background, as it matches the pink Marni writing and the white box behind the Marni writing will make the viewer look at the text at the top of the advert.

Magazine Advert 2:
I think layout and language wise, this version is better.
It has more information about the product it is trying to sell, which is the artist and their debut album. I think that the gradient on the background is a lot more subtle, which makes it look more professional.
However, one thing I would change is the colour of the background as I do not believe it is the most conventional colour to use and a pink or purple background might have looked better.
This post demonstrates minimal understanding of the choices and decisions that you made to your own magazine advert. This is because you have not explored the conventions, colours, images, styles and photoshop skills in enough detail and have only included a very basic overview instead. You also need to include your paper design, to demonstrate more understanding of how your ideas developed.
